Passion for Fashion..

Once upon a time there was a girl who loved to dress up all the time...
I love clothes, that is little girls clothes.(smile) According to my DH, I once was a great dresser... He doesn't have to finish his sentences.. I hear BUT coming from somewhere.. Ever since my little Princess arrived my passion for fashion has changed.. for good.
My Princess is wearing a very simple white linen dress with pink trim made by me. I have a exactly same dress which never won.. (crying~~) We have many same design clothes but I didn't get to wear mine.. Why.. why.. I don't know.. Did I mention that I was going to open online handmade girls boutique? I started many moons ago but never got to finished it. I am not sure what I am going to do with it yet.. maybe I will finish it or maybe not.
Princess Joy is wearing European Design Inspired dress by me. I love the color combination. Pink and baby blue are a few of my favorite colors after all.
I think I got bitten by "Inspiration bug" these days, everywhere I look I see something interesting which inspires me to go back to my sewing machine which has been collecting dust. See what I can do..

Follow Your Heart

I love fabric.. I used to make little purse and tote bags to carry my books when I was in junior high. I didn't have any sewing machine so everything was hand sewn. I don't remember how I did but I did it. I don't have anything that I made but only in memory. I guess that was my first love of fabric which I didn't know that back than. My love of fabric rekindled when my little princess was born. I made and embellished my daughters clothes, which I don't do too much these days.

I am taking upholstery class from end of this month. I always wanted to learn how to upholster professionally. It will be really fun. I have so many projects already lined up. I love studying anything and everything, if I can go back to school and study again. Interior Decorating, Psychology will be something I would love to study again. I am doing business consulting at the moment. My client is setting up beauty and hair salon. Its taking a lot of my time at the moment but interesting. We finally started remodeling and decorating the shop. I will bring some before and After pictures to show. I guess I am doing all the things I always wanted to do. Now I am involved with shop Interior decorating. You never know what's around the corner.. Just follow your heart..

one beautiful day

Sneak Preview

Where all the time goes.. nothing special happening in our little castle lately, except my DH made my fabric shelving system. I've been unpacking the boxes as you all know. I desperately needed some kind of housing for my fabric collections.. It looks pretty good,(minus the messy part) don't you think? I will need to re-arrange all the stuff after the unpacking is done. I am kind of worry that this shelving system is not big enough to organize everything.. (sigh~)

I have so so much stuff according to my little princess and DH..(hahaha) but I always have a room for fabrics and etc..

Show & Tell

I love Friday, yes.. I do.. I thought it will be fun to dedicate Friday as Show & Tell.
I am still unpacking stuff, Its been 4 months since our belongings arrived from California. Everyday is like a Christmas for me and my little princess because we are keep finding things that are buried in the boxes somewhere. My DH doesn't seem to impressed with it since we are making so much mess (hehe).
I found all the children's clothes I designed and Handmade. (Hooray~~) I haven't seen them for a long time. I just love to looking at them. yeh.. I know its kinda crazy.. My little princess out grow of ruffles and laces already, Not me. She wants to be cool, like Hannah Montana.. (smile)
I can't even beg her to model my designs..

Constructed the actual dress after the drawing

Don't you think its pretty?

My little princess modeling the dress. Pretty retro and funky. Did you know that I have to pay her to do modeling for me? Oh~ yes. Ice cream and some color pencils..

I will dig some more of the pictures and the clothes to show and tell...

Have a wonderful weekend!

"What do you know for sure?

If I could save the time in a bottle... time flies so fast before your eyes.. I've been busy helping a friend who is setting up her first business here in Melbourne.. I learned new things every day. Today, I stayed at home doing pretty much nothing.. Lucky me. I was reading Oprah website and found something interesting.. Here is the question of the day.."What do you know for sure?"
I do know for sure is that "followe your heart, it will lead to where you want to go" .. How about you?
Here is what Oprah knows for sure:
1. What you put out comes back all the time, no matter what. (This is my creed.)
2. You define your own life. Don't let other people write your script.
3. Whatever someone did to you in the past has no power over the present. Only you give it power.
4. When people show you who they are, believe them the first time. (A lesson from Maya Angelou.)
5. Worrying is wasted time. Use the same energy for doing something about whatever worries you.
6. What you believe has more power than what you dream or wish or hope for. You become what you believe.
7. If the only prayer you ever say is thank you, that will be enough. (From the German theologian and humanist Meister Eckhart.)
8. The happiness you feel is in direct proportion to the love you give.
9. Failure is a signpost to turn you in another direction.
10. If you make a choice that goes against what everyone else thinks, the world will not fall apart.
11. Trust your instincts. Intuition doesn't lie.
12. Love yourself and then learn to extend that love to others in every encounter.
13. Let passion drive your profession.
14. Find a way to get paid for doing what you love. Then every paycheck will be a bonus.
15. Love doesn't hurt. It feels really good.
16. Every day brings a chance to start over.
17. Being a mother is the hardest job on earth. Women everywhere must declare it so.
18. Doubt means don't. Don't move. Don't answer. Don't rush forward.
19. When you don't know what to do, get still. The answer will come.
20. "Trouble don't last always." (A line from a Negro spiritual, which calls to mind another favorite: This, too, shall pass.)
All sounds very true.. My favorite is No.20.. what is yours?
Enjoy your weekend!

Spring Garden.

Spring is in the Air..

I have to admit that I don't have green hands, feet, mind.. etc. etc.. I kill most of the plants, but I love to look at a beautiful garden.. I don't know what was I thinking when we decide to buy over an ACRE of the land and a house. Its very pretty at the moment since everything is blooming. My DH is doing wonderful job taking care of our garden at the moment.

Its especially lovely when its raining.. I didn't like the rain too much but with all these trees and flowers .. I love the rainy day now, less things to do, watering that it.. My favorite flower is Peony which we don't have in our garden but thinking of getting some this weekend. Previous owner obviously loved the gardening.. Perhaps I should buy gardening books to study..
